Protestant Psalm
Artur Brus
1
Heads down before the iron gaze of Christ
He was tortured and died for many
He remained a friend for his friends
We praise the logic of Christianity
2
I often stand up to read the Bible aloud
As Christ in Nazareth in the Gospel of Luke
3
To be kind to animals, food from plants only
As the apostle Paul clearly allowed Romans
4
I am a faithful lamb and I will never stall
I jump over the fields to follow my God’s call
I am a peaceful ram and I keep my horns high
I choose to cause no harm and I will never ply
I am a well-fed hare, under the sun I hop
I graze among the grains, I live, thank you, don’t stop
5
My forest, the coppice, turns verte
A whisky glass, plain one, at hand
A bottle, rye mash, is backpacked
I will drink a little in fact
6
Herbivorous, baccivorous
Baccs are berries, hot confiture
From bilberries, baccs only, stewed
7
My mind-clearer is God, Paul in the Bible calls the Bible God-breathed
